Hey everyone, so I broke into Uplink Internal Services, the computer system where I buy all my hacking tools. I stole the list of Uplink agents and deleted the logs at InterNIC. However, whenever I log into Uplink Internal Services under my regular non-admin account I start getting traced. I can get my business done quickly if I have to but the trace is getting kind of annoying. How do I get rid of it?
That should only happen if you are messing with their security systems while using any account including your legit one. Make sure you're not breaking their firewall or something out of habit!

I'm not refering to any specific known bug, but out of curiousity: have you ran the passwordbreaker on your own login at some point? It seems plausible to me that it would perhaps mess it up and your "default" login information is now considered a cracked password which prompts the trace.

Actually I figured it out. You have to delete the agent list after copying it. Once I did that the trace stopped happening.
If I recall correctly, I haven't played this game in ages, but you get traced because you attempt to log on the Uplink Internal Services minutes after it has been hacked. To avoid the trace, once you've hacked the Uplink Internal Services, go delete your InterNIC bounce logs, then fast forward the clock several hours, and then you should be able to connect to the Uplink Internal Services without provoking a trace.
