How does co-op work? Is it independant meaning i can load it on two machines on the same lan, and they can play, or is it one computer runs the game and the other can join on the lan?

Or is it tied into GOG's mp system where i need to buy multiple copies and tie the purchases to accounts to enjoy mp?
