For whatever reason it doesn't work with the D3D10 renderer on my laptop. On the PC it works fine though.

Laptop is an i7 with an integrated Intel crap-shit and an Nvidia 930M which is to be used as per the driver settings.

However, the D3D10 renderer fails to load. OGL and the D3D9 renderer work although the latter is also making probs in fullscreen. So currently using the OGL one but from the PC I know the D3D10 one is much better :/
Works great, this mod really helps out a lot.

Are there any known compatibility issues between Kentie DX10 and S2TC mods?
I'm having some issues running the patch on my system.
I have an integrated intel hd graphics 520 and directx12 installed

I followed the instructions but the visual studio resdist file was an older version than the one currently installed on my machine so it wouldn't install.

I copied the files to the system folder and the Direct10 3d Support menu item is selectable but then the game gives me an error and won't run.

Any ideas on what I could try?

I assume it's an issue with the integrated graphics chip. It's not made for that.

Perhaps you are correct.

When starting UT, I'm able to select Direct 3D and the game does load 'ok' however the frame rate is extremely slow and reverts to 680 x 480 resolution.

I figured that the Direct 3D 10 patch would work since the Integrated Intel 520 graphics card does seem to support the old Direct 3D setting that comes with the game. (Software rendering does not work at all--it crashes).

Maybe you're right that my intel 520 graphics card just isn't supported by the patch.

I hope the patch gets updated or that I find another way to get the game to work.

I'm late, but I had a similar issue. By going into compatibility settings for unrealtournament.exe, having it run by administrator and disabling the fullscreen optimizations it then ran just fine. Maybe try that.

Having failed that there's the DX9 renderer on UTGLR (The newer OpenGL renderer is probably preferred instead of DX9, but I'm running AMD here), and it runs just as well minus a bug I found where the Minigun would clip past the HUD and block it out.

I had this issue with new drivers, adn I have confirmed it is a driver issue. Worst case on my 1050ti I roll back to the lowest driver version and it works, but that's a pain and resets my configs.

Select direct x stock renderer

in nvidia control panel set
pre rendered frames to 1
texture quality to high performance
trilinear to on
threaded optimization to on
vsync to on

In game

set desired frames to 60
set resolution to highest that is select-able.

this option provided us with fairly stable and smooth controls and frame rates, without the black blocking and culling issues. We have dx11 for the rest of our apps.

Also GOG
Please get games like empyrion, black and white and maybe make a competitor to DOTA 2. I hate steam, I want to give you more cash.
I have the game set to 1920x1080 32bit, and to do that, I had to edit the UnrealTournament.ini.

To do this, navigate to GOG Galaxy\Games\Unreal Tournament GOTY\System, find, and open UnrealTourtnament.ini using Notepad, then look for the [WinDrv.WindowsClient] section, and change it like this:

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=1920
WindowedViewportY=1080
WindowedColorBits=32
FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1080
FullscreenColorBits=32

Note. My monitor only supports a maximum resolution of 1920x1080, which is why I use that setting, but....
Ever since I bought the original UT99 GOTY, on CD's with Unreal Gold, back in the early 2000's, I have always changed those settings to my monitor's max resolution, and the game has worked fine (and looks awesome too). I only ever had a problem with the Nvidia drivers many years ago, but Nvidia fixed the problem on the next set of drivers they released, after I rteported the problem to them, and since then, I have never had another problem with UT99 GOTY and my Nvidia Graphics Cards, and/or drivers.

I hope this info helps you to get some better resoplution. I don't know if it will solve the game performance issues though.
