I've tried this a few times with the same results; every time I try to install Unreal Gold, it downloads fine however it is stuck forever during the installation process at the "configuring" stage. No window pop ups to click on or acknowledge, nothing that requires user input, just that endless "configuring" message in Galaxy client. Any tips?

Have you tried installing it without Galaxy?

This happened to me on Windows 10 Creators Update. The problem was Visual Basic 5 needs to install, I'm guessing for scripting UnreadEditor. The installer never pops up on screen; instead it hangs in the background.

Go to task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del), click show more, double click the SETUP.EXE process, and the installer window should pop up. After VB5 is installed the GOG.com installer should complete and you'll be disco.
