I tried the DirectSound solution and set it to false but it doesn't work. i also tried everey compatibility solution and nothing works. anybody got an idea how i get this game to work?

got actual Video/Sounddrivers and DirectX
i use Vista64bit, nvidia 285gtx, 4 core CPU

For me, possibly since I updated to the latest DirectX 9c redist pack, I've been getting a black screen when loading up Unreal Gold. However I then just leave it, and after about a minute the main screen then comes up fine and the game works as normal. At first I tried CTRL-ALT-DEL and CTRL-TAB, Task Manager, etc, and that only resulted in causing the Unreal executable to crash, so just try leaving it for a short while and see if it eventually loads up.
