How can I get rid of that annoying noises the player character makes while jumping? It sounds like Lumpy from Happy Tree Friends is in the game and it drives me crazy after a few minutes of playtime. :(

I know it is possible, because I was already bugged by that noises when the game came out in 2003 and I found a way to remove this sound effects back then.

Unfortunately that was almost 14 years ago, I forgot how I did it and wrote it down nowhere. :(

I tried to open the games datafiles with 7zip, but they seem not to be renamed zips (like Quake and other Id games).

So I am a bit at an impasse here...

thx in advance. :)

Typical, as soon as I start a topic my decayed half rotten synapses kick in and I can remember what I did 14 years ago.

1) open unrealed

2) open sound browser

3) load U2Player_A.uax (in a folder called sounds)

4) In the menu there is a point called die_hard (or similar)

5) click that and a pulldown menu opens

6) scroll down to "jump" and click it

7) three files will show up (jump1, jump2 and jump5)

8) delete them with the menubar of that window

9) save the file. Attention: Unreal 2 is an old game and don´t likes empty spaces in names. So you have to save the file to the root of your harddrive. You can copy it into the sounds-folder of your Unreal 2 installation with the Windows explorer (don´t forget to make a backup of the original file).

That´t it, no more cavemanlike groans while jumping.
