Well, can you not just add it in as a non-Steam game and use it that way?

Yeah but if i can integrate it with Steam i can use Steam based servers to play it... right? That requires a usable key... i think

I am sure gog will make it possible to play online. They provided all the Sacrifice users a key to play online with when it was needed. I know, I was one of them that received a key.
Write to them at support and they should help you if you need it.
I would say connect it to Steam and give it a try and if it does not work tell gog the situation and see what happens.
there are no steam based servers for UT2k4, the UT2k4 on steam browses in software, just like the GOG.com version. I know because I have both.
You can't use the GOG.com key to activate UT2k4 on steam, because steam doesn't support using CDkeys to activate the software. The best you can do, is like Faithful said, is add it as a shortcut.
There's virtually no difference, other than you bought and downloaded one from GOG and the other from Steam.

I think that answers my questions.
Thanks both for the replies
