Why is the introduction mission/room so laggy? Is this how the whole game is gong to be? Or just the intro room and other areas from what I read.

The fan patch for the first game very quickly pushed the first Unreal game beyond the capacity of the laptop's graphics card so that was unplayable until I had turned the settings down a bit.

Hmm, Unreal 1 works fine on three of my different laptops. But each time I had to apply a patch. Out of the box, the intro was super laggy and game unplayable. So if you have problems running gog version of unreal search this forum for the instructions how to patch it.
