Hello everyone,

I'm currently using Windows 8.1 (i have no choice right now) and for the first time in history; experienced many problems on old games. Unreal Tournament is the recent one.

While i'm using Direct3D, FPS is between 27 and 30 and you can easily feel it. That's frustrating. Also tried to use OpenGL but it's way too fast (i mean, extraordinarily fast). Tried "minimum desired frame rate" option, used 28(default), 30 and 60 but nothing happened.

Do you know how to solve this problem?

Well Direct3D was designed for DirectX6 I think or maybe 7 so just don't use that.
I'm too lazy to check what renderer is included with the GOG version of UT99 instead you should go download utglr
http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

Then in UnrealTournament.ini under [OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice] you can set FrameRateLimit = 120 or whatever your refresh rate is fine.

Setting the minimum framerate wont help you when ut is running at 2000 fps.
Thank you so much.

New renderer options you've provided worked like a charm. Thank you! OpenGL still has some problems but DX9 renderer is great! Now i can play it without a headache.

Now, I'm worrying about internet play. They might kick me out or even ban me from servers. When i tried DX10 renderer years ago, that happened (i guess that server used ACE though).

I'm pretty sure all the regularly used renderers should be whitelisted by ACE. I know I read something about the directx10 renderers being added at some point but the ACE thread on unrealadmin is so long so I'm not really going to look. If its a common renderer I'm sure it should work.
