Hi there.
I'm stuck at the boss Medeox and don't know how to beat him. I'm a straight forward fighter and use swords most of the time. A sword obviously won't help with this guardian.
I got the two-arrow-bow and some fire spell. (improved fire blast), but his damn snakes always poison me to death before i can do any great harm to him.
Any tipps how to kill this guardian?
I'M really on the edge of giving up. Is there some sort of "immunity to poison" spell?

There's a quest called Begin the Begun in some room to the East in the Catacombs that let's you reset all your skill points so you know.

This is what I did:

I bought Great Fire Wizard Robe of Concentration, Mage Staff, Red Magic Circle and The Bright Mind spell. The first item and the last spell adds faster casting time, the other two increases fire damage.

After that I went on the 3rd platform just above his petrification gaze and used as many Fireballs as I could. Due to it's splash damage I only needed 2 or 3 to kill all of his serpents meaning I didn't even need to use an antidote once and then just continue. I throw out a couple of Fire Spirits too and I had my Dragon Pet out there in case his ghosts would appear before I killed him, I don't think they did.

I think it's also possible to kill him with a Bow but with melee I'm not so sure about, there's only one situation when he gets up close and even then his gaze is going to be in the way not to mention one of his serpent heads is going to be able to avoid even a pole arm hit.

This is one of several points in the game where you need some form of ranged attack. A bow will work, or any bolt spell.
There is a poison immunity spell, but it comes later, sadly. (like the mental immunity spell comes well after Neuron)

Don't target Medeox directly. Aim for the snakes - they're all targetable, and they're all killable. While he doesn't become easy, exactly, with his artillery gone there's one less thing to worry about.

Try and stay off the bottom platform if you can. Your range of movement is severely limited there, and you'll find it difficult to evade incoming attacks.

The Ice Block spell will block a lot of poison shots, if you have it. It won't last forever (it's susceptible to Medeox's gaze attack) but it will help. It can also distract the ghosts.
That fight was a breeze.

Here is what I did:

Reqs: 9 points in Ice Magic, ~8 points in Fire Magic, Some Points in Bow (~9 points in healing magic or ~9 points in potions help)

1) Stay on the lowest platform. That way, you won't have to worry about petrification after the boss first appears.

With the floor above, it should look something like this

************
* _______B
***************
2) Cast a couple of Ice Blocks at the "B" location to block the poison spits and the fire beams. It will also block the ice spirits. Renew as necessary.

3) Cast fireballs (not firebolts, fireballs, the ones that create a big blast) at the heads. That should clear out all, but the one behind his helmet very quickly.

4) When he starts spiting those ice spirit, cast Fire Aura on yourself and go besides them at location "B". That will clear them out really quickly.

5) Maintain Slow Poison if you have it and cast Neutralize Poison (or use a potion that has the same effect) ASAP if you get poisoned.

6) Hanging between the wall and the "B" location, use the bow to shoot at the eye whenever you get an opening. The double-shot magic bow that shoots long arrows works well if you have it.

Overall, it's a great investment to put at least 9 points in ice magic, fire magic,, healing magic, bows and one melee weapon. You can restock on arrows at most vendors and restock on magic essences at the kitchen. With the money you make in the later games, you shouldn't have too much trouble resupplying.

Hello everyone!

I just did it!

What was useful:
- Fireballs (for snakes) - make miracles indeed, it took only a couple of fireballs and was easy even without casting speed improving stuff;
- Arcane bow;
- Heat aura spell (for ghosts) - they just couldn't get to me;
- Regeneration + Slow poison - I didn't care for poison blasts anymore;

And what was not:
- Imbue fire - I guess it saved some time, but was unnecessary after all;
- Dragon pet - it assisted a couple of times hurling fireballs to ghosts and Medeox' eye, but was more of annoyance than help - I was afraid of it being killed by gaze;
- Strong spell - unnecessary;
- Antidote spell - would be great, but I didn't lose much health after casting regen. and slow poison (I catched only one or two poison blasts before snakes were dispatched).

Finally, just as with Neuron, this fight is far easy with good tactics while almost impossible without.
Thanks to Unepic team!

I'd say the Neuron fight was more of a puzzle than tactics.

There was pretty much one way to do things: Slide the rope to hit him and ditch your potions and offensive spell powders.

A situation that requires tactical skills should have more than a single way to successfully tackle it.

You're right, my misinterpretation.

BTW, it was a surprise to find out that one can start hitting Neuron while sliding the rope then drop down to finish the swipe. Thus it was possible to hit him with a slow but heavy weapon.
Could we get this thread updated? Apparently, this boss is a lot harder nowadays, as there has been an update since this thread started (and was SOLVED) that renders much of this useless.
