Hey ! I was watching exactly that video the other day .
The number of views for all these vids is "edifying".
Just drop all of your potions and items that will teleport you away in a corner and place out a few regen potions in the middle of the map.

What regen potions ? The ones I all swallowed in order to be able to bring him almost down to his knee, just before he teleported me away to my new savegame ?
Ouch, guess it pays to play it on hard or hard+ since there are no auto saves. My advice then if you don't have any regen pots or health pots is to farm the mats and buy the recipes to make them.

Wait, what? To your new save game?

I just restarted this game after losing my damn saves (my fault, forgot to back them up) but what is it with saves with this boss?

I believe you have to option to turn auto-save on or off when you play Normal or Easy, at Hard or Hard+ you it's automatically off and you can't turn it on.

To the central cube thing, where I saved by reflex, as each time I teleport myself there. But still, it woul probably have autosaved on my way back...

On related news, I used all my vials and materials n regen potions, that I didn't pick up because I thought they'd go in my inventory directly instead of dropping on my feet, and of course when I came back to the cauldron they were gone. I am super happy.

And yes this is all neuron's fault.
I'll definitely save-scum or whatever it's called by backing up my save via GameSave Manager every time before a boss in this game just to avoid stuff like this. I've no problem with challenging but I don't consider it a challenge if you have to start over before you actually prepared yourself.

Any good place you can grind to get more materials? Of course vials don't drop that often I guess.

Remember that the game has loot thieves so if you leave stuff unattended they will steal it. You can try killing a few of them for a scroll to teleport you to their hide out and see if you can get your stuff back :D.

I would like to point out that it doesn't excuse him at all.

It's also a good idea to drop your spell essences for any spell that can harm you to counter the suicidal tendencies effect. (Only spell I'm aware of that does this is the fireball spell but perhaps I just haven't discovered anything else it can do before that point.) Also you don't even really need to worry about leaving potions around for you to use. If you have the healing spell then you can just use that up until he starts silencing you. After that point you should be able to completely recover any damage when he stops hitting you with his beam and moves.

He's an annoying boss but once you know what to do, he really isn't hard at all surprisingly. His most annoying effects are completely counterable. Damage over time, silence, and confusion are the only ones that aren't counterable (until you can get a mental immunity scroll long after beating him at least...) but those ones are also the easiest to deal with being affected by.
Just wait until you get to Medeox, neuron was cake compared to him.
Now I'm in the game where you're supposed to face Neuron and I just went it to see what he's like and I didn't understand squat. I had a walkthrough ready as I knew the bosses in these games after the 3rd was going to be a b*tch. I kind of lost the will to continue to play, there's too much timing for my taste.

"There's always a bigger.."

Bah.. :(

Does anyone know a good place to kill enemies before any places you can reach after you defeat Neuron so I can stack up on money then buy regeneration potions and essence for healing spells?

Frost/Fire robe of defense offers 20% arcane protection. Will that decrease the damage he does with his mental wreck beam and does it affect the other debuffs he causes after a while?

EDIT: I now made an honest try against him and I managed to get him to half of his health. The problem arose when he began to silence me and as soon as I picked up a potion to heal he made me spill it, I couldn't even press a hotkey fast enough to drink it as his action would interupt mine so I'm not sure what you're supposed to do at that state. Any tips would be appreciated.

Don't carry your potions. Scatter them around the room before the fight, and pick them when you need them. Don't try while you're under "mind control", pick/use them right after you hurt him, before he fires his beam at you.

Also, you don't need money to buy regen potions. Just go kill some satyres (if I remember well, you need their intestines) and go make a few potions of your own in the kitchen. You should have been able to buy the recipe by now.
