I come to the place to obtain the pot, but coulnd't get in. the ladder won't appear. Is there some kind of requirement or something?

Kill all the enemies on the screen, including the bee hives. Ladder should appear after. There's a number of areas in the game where the ladder won't appear until you've eliminated all enemies on screen.
