In this playthrough I enter on the metal walkway and end up electrocuted before I can reach any insulated piece of floor. Any advice?

I haven't played the game in ages, but usually there's a switch somewhere or a way to cut off the power to the area to avoid such traps. Unless it's related to a quest, in which case there may be an item needed to connect to something, etc.

I wish I could be more help to that specific area, but it's the best I can do from what I can recall how the game sets things up.
