I was just extremely fortunate and received a copy of UnderRail from Painted_doll via the community GA.

I'm tempted to jump right in and start playing, but...

A few things that are relevant to me with cRPGs, and then the subject's question:

I usually restart new RPGs at least once after I've played a bit anyway, once I get more of a feel for what I want to do/type of character(s) I want to be for the game. I find this beneficial for multiple reasons, here it could be doubly so because of the "polished" factor. I could play a while and then drop it and come back in 3 months after another patch or 2 and start over and be completely happy/that is how I like to operate if/whenever I get "new" games anyway.

So, yeah, how polished is the game currently? This goes from minor to major things - from proofreading/editing corrections to broken dialogue trees to game-breaking bugs and everything in between it all. I don't like to play RPGs until every single quest is functional and all dialogue trees are functional and complete, so those are the 2 things that matter most to me, but I'm curious about the overall polish.

Of course anyone who has completed it with the most current patch (I know, there are SO many of those out there...*sarcasm*) is the most useful of information, but all feedback is encouraged/welcomed!

So far i'd say it's pretty darn polished.

I've put in between 20 - 40 hours now and I haven't run into any noticeable bugs at all and only noticed one typo in the dialog.

The one game balance issue that frustrated me (Junkyard Mutants) was just addressed in a patch released today. The developer seems really committed to fixing anything promptly.

Thanks much for the feedback! A patch today you say?!?! Excellent! It should be here soon then.
It's amazing how much more polished it went from version 2 to version 6. (err, you know what I mean, right?)

I practically never devote much time to a new RPG if I get one. I like them to have been out 6months to a year for thorough refinement and patching before even getting 10 hours into them. I think this is going to be the 1 and only exception I've made in a lonnnng long long time for this. Hopefully a patch doesn't come out in the next few months that makes me wish I'd stuck to my discipline, but, damnit, it's just too good.
I've noticed several typos and come across a couple glitches in version 1.00006. I'm not complaining, just documenting. Considering dropping playing until 1 or 2 more patches at this point, but, BUT BUT, the game is sooo compelling, I don't want to!
