zgrillo2004: I know this is a very sensitive topic regarding on what happened on Charleston, SC
But I have been seeing the confederate flag getting banned everywhere like its a witch hunt and im just afraid that this game will be affected by this censorship too. Is this game going to taken down? or its not gonna be touched because IMHO this is a history game and they cannot remove it
1st that is ridiculous and the classic marxist and communist tactic of erasing history and silencing your opposition.
Second, GoG is a Polish company and I really don't think they care about some cry babies in the US. If it is a good game, I'm sure they will continue to sell it with no issues. I think a lot of Polish people have a strong interest in history, and the actual history not the white-washed PC history political activists are forcing upon everyone.
As far as the developer, I have no idea other than what others commented here, but if they set out to make a historically accurate game, I'm sure they don't care about it either. It seems part of their goal in making these games is to tell the story of history and let people experience it.
I'm so sick of this American lefist idea of the Civil War being only about slavery and racism. And on that topic, if this war was only about slavery, nearly a million Americans died fighting for it. I would think that qualifies as a hell of a price in blood from the people that lived during that time that actually had slaves. There isn't a single culture in this world that can say they never had slaves, discriminated against another group, or that they've done more to make up for past mistakes then our current American and European cultures. In fact, there are slaves and severe discrimination of many groups in many of these countries the left glorifies to this day. To make this simply a war of slavery and racism trivializes every American death during this war and what they died for.
Nobody mentions the white slaves or minority slave owners during this time. If any of these snowflakes actually did some historical research or cared about anything more than mindless pop culture and celebrities, maybe they would have a clue.
One could argue the Union went completely against what this Nation was intended to be and what the Constitution stands for when they violently bullied states to remain in the Union. And this is not an endorsement of slavery or discrimination, in fact quite the opposite, it's about recognizing the truth and about the Union not giving the southern states their sovereignty or equal representation when they felt as the American colonists felt under the control of the British.
