Spoilers?


I've retrieved the Wine Bottle from beneath the tile in the checkered room on Level 6. It's in my inventory, but Dr. Owl will not give me a dialogue option to give it to him, only "I haven't found it yet" (or something like that).

Bug?

Seconding rmeakins' answer as correct. Dr. Owl just tells you where it is, he doesn't want it himself.

No bug. Giving the bottle to someone would be a serious mistake and make the game unwinnable. The Avatar needs that bottle himself.

Not that you can give it away. Well, maybe you could trade it? Hunh, now I'm wondering what its trade value would be.

Anyway, the only thing you could do would be to lose it, since lava shouldn't break it, and any one you trade it to you could just trade for it again.

Edit: Actually, throwing it at water would be a terrible idea. So don't do that.

Haha! Thanks everyone. The game has its rough patches. Maybe I'm dreaming this up. I swear he specifically asked for it, and then I wasn't able to choose the dialogue option to give it to him. Huh...

He doesn't ask for the wine, his request is that his servant Murgo (lizardman captive on level 3) is freed. I think he asks for that, maybe he only hints at it; I've always freed Murgo by the time I get to Dr. Owl so I'm not entirely sure.

Dr. Owl tells you where the wine is as thanks for freeing Murgo.
