After talking to Alyssand and Zulith in Fawn, Kalen is supposed to attack you, but I' ve been running aroud the city and he hasn't showed up. Does anyone know how long it takes for him to show up? Do you have to talk to him beforehand? Are there any special conditions? I really want to get done with the quest in Fawn as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for any help.

I can't remember the exact trigger, but just continue with your business around town and he will appear. Try to talk to everyone in town, and also the outcasts in the Fellowship camp.

Ugh, I ran into another problem. Not only does Kalen doesn't show up, when talking to Kylista it doesn't give me the option of talking about the breastplate. The Magic Armor is in her house, but I cannot give her back the breastplate that got swapped, even though I though I talked to both Harnna and Standarr in Monitor about it.

I believe that was a bug in the original game. You can just take your magic armor with no consequences, and if you want to be a virtuous Avatar, you can leave her armor in its place. Or you can force Iolo to wear it for laughs. :)

So, I talked to a bunch of people (didn't talk to the Captains, Lady Yelinda or Delin yet) but Kalen showed up at the tavern. I defeated him, I talked to Alyssand, agreed to helped her, had Zulith follow me and questioned him about it, and talked to Jorvin about the assassin. What is supposed to happen next is that Jorvin approaches me granting me an audience with Lady Yelinda, but I ran around the city like for five minutes of real time and there was no sign of him. I'm at my wit's end with this quest.

I believe that talking to Delin is necessary to advance the plot line; it doesn't hurt to talk to everyone else as well (including at the Fellowship camp). If you haven't yet delivered a letter for someone, that might also be necessary.

WRT the breastplate: did you have it in your inventory at the time? The game may not recognize that you have it if someone else is carrying it. It may also be necessary to ask someone in Fawn about it (Jendon the barkeep is the people/places/things person in that city).

Well, I talked to the three captains and that worked. Jorvin came looking for us and granted the audience. I proceeded with the trial, and now I have the Crystal Rose of Love.

As for the breastplate, I did have it in my inventory. I went to talk to Jendon but he never gave the option of asking him about it either, even though I tried several times (I know that you have to ask several times for different options to come up). Still, I want to keep the breastplate. As long as this isn't a symptom of more glitches to come I don't mind.

Ok, so I've come to report a finding. Before heading to Fawn, I asked both Harnna and Standarr about the white breastplate, and when I met Kylista, I couldn't ask her about it. However, just out of curiosity I did a trial with my earlier save and went WITHOUT asking either Harnna or Standarr, going directly to Fawn and upon meeting Kylista the option to ask about the breastplate was there. What a weird bug, lol.

That's interesting. Did she actually take it from you then? There's no problem with keeping it if you want to. That one was a bug, but there are a few items you won't get back regardless. Delin has your torches I think (or was it food?) but just offers you store credit instead. Anything important you will get back.

Yeah, she did take it back. And I haven't talked to Delin yet. Next order of business now that I have the Crystal Rose of Love is to loot the entire town, lol.
