Hey Guys,
Been playing U7 for a few hours now, and have a couple random questions:

1. How do I tell how many hit points I have total/remaining?
2. How do you tell the stats of weapons/armor in game? I can't seem to tell if one item is better than another.
3. Is doing un-virtuous stuff bad if you don't get caught? (i.e. are those bad actions tracked?)
4. This has probably been covered already, but I'm playing with Exult and want to know what to look out for to avoid the disappearing items bug. Is it fairly apparent when the issue happens?

Thanks in advance.
1. Z opens up Stats each press opens the characters stats in order so Avatar first, Iolo second, and so on alternatively you can right click to open their inventory and then click on the heart icon, in exult you can just turn on status bars in the engine's options just hit esc and going to gameplay options and turning them on.

2. Weapons I can remember but Armor is(if I miss a tier sorry) cloth->Leather->chain->plate->Magic magic armor is the best gear in 7

3. There is no real pentalties for being unvirtues in 7 like their was in the Age of enlightenment trilogy(4-6) since the virtues have fallen out of favor among the people in Brittania but doing unvirtuous things will piss your companions/party members off and they will leave if you keep doing unvirtuous things

4. None what so ever, in non-exult Ultima 7 items didn't dissapear as much as they were just stolen by certain NPCs. Exult on the other hand there is no way of knowing but to be safe do not play with serpent isle paperdolls in Black gate as I heard that can cause issues with items.
2. there are books around the world that will tell you the values of most, but not all, weapsons and armor. One book is common and you should find it in Trinsic or definatly in Brit. The other book is from a guy that is fairly plot-related and i dont want to say much... its also not as helpful as the initial book that actually give numeric values for weapons and armor.

similarly, there are books to tell you what each potion does.

oh, DCT, you forgot Scale armor, but its the same as chain, just heavier... correct?

It is *possible* to have items disappear in Ultima 7, but only if you overload an area with so much spawned (not pre-placed) stuff stashed in crates/barrels/etc that the game engine can't keep track of it all*. This isn't likely to happen by accident though. Spawned items that are left lying around outside of containers may also disappear (generally, once you move out of range).

'Spawned' items include loot from non-unique enemies (deer, bandits, etc), items created by lightning storms in Serpent Isle, and other items generated by processes during the game (such as gold won from gambling in Buccaneer's Den). Putting these things in containers prevents them from vanishing (although spawned containers might not be safe - I never checked that).

* I managed to accomplish this exactly once when playing U7 back during the original release, by filling every crate/barrel/etc in LB's castle and environs with meat from hapless deer/cows/etc, with the result that the castle became increasingly fragmented (bits of walls/floor/etc disappearing).

That I didn't know but of course I never had a need to go so overboard like that so yeah. The only dissapearing items I knew about was certain NPCs having a thief routine that would trigger like Nicodemus would start using thief AI routines at a set time of the day and would snatch your stuff. I recall that being patched out but don't hold me too it though as all I can find was patch notes just saying "A bug causing items to disappear have been fixed"
