The only two music modes that work for me are Adlib and Midi. Both Adlib and Midi produce a crackling sound and it gets pretty annoying. The intro works fine and doesn't produce crackling so kind of wondering if torches or braziers produce the crackling sound for immersions sake or if it's the actual audio?

I haven't touched this game in years so I don't remember if it's supposed to be like this or if somethings screwy. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Nevermind, I figured out it was just actual game sounds after playing a bit.
