Well I was playing Ultima III when one of my characters became incapacitated. I have check the manual and search the internet for this problem and can find no reference to it. I will try the healer in British's castle.

So I am creating a new bunch of characters to start over. Bummer!!!

Thanks in advance.

Been a while since I played UIII but maybe they're asleep? Have you tried just passing time to see if that wakes them up?
There's no "incapacitated" status in Ultima 3.

The status ailments in Ultima 3 are:
* Poison, which does damage over time. Curing this requires a 35 MP spell, a trip to the healer, or a fountain (like one of the ones in Perenian Depths level 2).
* Death. Curing this requires a 65 MP spell or a trip to the town healer. Furthermore, curing this status ailment can fail. (Note that the game auto-saves if someone dies; this behavior is often considered undesirable, but there are actually a couple exploits involving this.)
* Ashes: Result of a failed attempt at curing Death, and I believe the character loses all equipment when this happens. Cured with a 75 MP spell (which will lower the caster's Wisdom by 5 when used on a valid target), or with a healer. Curing this can fail.
* Cold (NES version only): This status found only in the NES version (and most likely the MSX cartridge version) is similar to Poison, but it is contagious and can't be cured with a spell.

Perhaps you mean one of these status ailments?
