When visiting Bucc Den the first time, I brought a ghost a bottle of rum (I think by the lighthouse) and he gave me a clue about a shipwreck off the northeast coast of the Bucc Den island.

I found the shipwreck diving off the coast, but could only see about half of it before my air meter rapidly dropped, I presume because of deep water.

I just came back to Bucc Den armed with a bunch of blue potions and I tried exploring the shipwreck again and the blue potions have no affect on my air meter once it starts rapidly dropping from the deep water.

So, I am wondering if there is another way to explore this shipwreck and if it's even worth bothering with. For all I know it's empty.

Thanks!

there is a good sized pile of gold coins there. i don't remember exactly how much. there is nothing critical to the game there so if you want to give it a pass, it's not the end of the world.

i'm trying to remember if there were any special tricks to getting in.....let me go back and have a look. i'll get back to you.

i just went back and i was struggling with it too. i used the mana breath spell and it wasn't helping. i finally used a cheat just to see what was there. there are only 100 gold coins. if you want to skip it, you have my blessings! :-D

this would explain why i haven't bothered with it.

Thanks. I'll skip it then. I've got 9999 gold and a 3000+ gold pile at the gem shop from selling my last lot of gems when already maxed out on gold.

On a side note, I'm actually not really finding much to spend money on. Training seems to be the main thing and I've gold gold coming out of my ears.

I'm guessing this is why, or part of why, there is a fan patch for the economy.
i honestly don't know about that. i think i remember reading that they were trying to make buy/sell prices in shops a little more worth the effort. i know that it also made bags a buyable thing in outfitter shops. i think it also made more stuff available in more places.

i am always in the same boat you are at this point in the game. i have more money than i know what to do with! (too bad it's not that way in real life, eh!?)

if you have gold to spend, you can buy extra scrolls and potions in magic shops. orange and black potions are VERY handy to have in your backpack. maybe even buy a few purple potions! i don't know what you are currently wearing but you can consider upgrading your armor. i know i said you shouldn't do this but it is still an option! i'm a woman and i change my mind--it's what we do! :-D

when i got to Trinsic i had the smith make me a blackrock sword (even though i NEVER use it) just to spend some of the money i had accumulated by that point. the blackrock sword is a 1 handed weapon and it *is* very powerful but i still prefer the lightning sword. you can buy yourself a full harness of plate aromor from him as well if you don't want the sword.

this is part of why i always train in everything. i just want to spend the money!

just a few suggestions......

You could make a game of it and drop half the money in safe places and see how much gold you accumulate by the end of the game. Might sate the curiosity of those that are wondering and you could be the first to provide the answer! :)

Oh, cool, so people are really wondering about that? That's essentially what I've been doing. I can't stand to waste gold even if I don't really need it.

That could be interesting! :-)

I wish we could donate it to the cathedral or something. You can make donations with Pegleg Joe in paws but only 20 at a time. I don't know if you can do this multiple times or not. I never bothered to find out. I will go back tomorrow and see!

By the way, I don't know if there is a way to deliberately "drop" gold. Your overflow naturally ends up on the floor next to you but I think the only way to reduce your personal funds is to spend it.
