In effort to make sense of what's going on with the time of day, I found this information online:

Bloodwatch - Midnight
Firstebb - Midnight to Dawn
Daytide - Dawn to Noon
Threemoons - Noon
Lastebb - Noon to Dusk
Eventide - Dusk to Midnight

I looked at a clock and it said Eventide. Then I waited 5 hours and looked at a clock and it said Lastebb, so unless the information I found is wrong, it seems like time is flowing backwards.

Does anyone know what's going on?

My general goal is to understand when it's day and when it's night figuring that day is a better time to find NPCs out and about in the city.....so far I haven't noticed any change in the graphics between day and night so I figured I'd rely on a clock I put in my backpack.

Thanks much for any insights anyone has!

Its been a long time since I played Ultima 8, started up a new game and tried sleeping in Devon's bedroll. As I thought I remembered, you don't choose a number of hours in this game, you choose a number of periods. The periods you listed. Picking 5 periods at Eventide would get you to Lastebb, like it did for you.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks!

I recall reading that each period was four hours long and when resting I just assumed it was asking me about hours. I did notice it didn't say "hours" per say but I didn't make the connection on what it was referring to.

Thanks!
