Does anyone know how to add command lines for the audio mixer in DOSBox? I’m trying to lower the volume of the sound effects (specifically the Avatar’s footsteps) in Ultima 8 (which are played using soundblaster pro) so I can better appreciate the wonderful midi soundtrack. I have a little experience with tinkering with individual settings in the config files GOG provides, but I have no idea how to add command lines myself, specifically for audio mixer volume settings.

I know I can play U8 in ScummVM, but I was hoping to learn more about DOSBox setup in the process.

EDIT: got it working! In the file dosboxULTIMA8_single.conf and under the section [autoexec] I wrote “mixer sb 15:15”. This lowered all sound effects to just 15% volume but at least I can now enjoy the soundtrack as well! Hopefully this post helps others in the future.
