Is there a way to change the order of characters in the roster?

For example, Shamino is the 3rd listed and I'd like him and Seggalion (5th listed) to swap places so when combat starts he's closer to the front. I'm doing combat with all characters set to command so it might be more of an issue there than when letting the AI control them.

I tried asking Shamino and Iolo to leave temporarily so I should shuffle Seggalion where I want him but Shamino and Iolo are stubborn and refuse to leave :-)

I wish to know this too...

Unfortunately the only way I found to do this for characters who won’t leave is to get them killed and carry their body back to a healer for resurrection. Dupre ended ended up in slot 6 last time I played due to that.
