I'm just starting out. If a character gets killed in combat they turn into a dead body and are removed from the roster. Is there a way to haul them back to a healer to get a rez?

Thanks!

I honestly never tried to do this, but dead bodies (corpses) are items that can be picked up and carried like any other item.

Alternatively, you could cast Resurrect on the dead body, but that of course can't be done until level 8 (though there's a trick that lets you do this at level 7).

Or (and this is especially useful if you're just starting out), the spell Help, which I discussed in another topic, will revive the dead, the only downside being that you lose your position and time will pass (which is only really an issue if you're trying to beat the game in as few days as possible; there's no time limit or anything).

Just do note that a character who is revived will lose experience points depending on your Karma at the time of resurrection. (This will not result in level loss (unlike in Ultima 5), but will make it take longer to gain the next level.)

(Worth noting: If the Avatar dies, Help will automatically be cast; this works like casting it manually, except this will result in the Avatar losing XP due to being revived.)

(Fun fact: Help will take you back to Lord British, and the idea is that he is the one reviving you, but the spell will still work if you somehow manage to kill Lord British.)
Great info, thank you!
