So I bilked the blind merchant out of a bunch of herbs, following the idea that a single transaction lowers my honesty by 10, and a single transaction at the correct price would raise it by 2. I bought 99 of each that she sold, which comes to 6 transactions, resulting in -60 honesty points.

Since then, I have purchased roughly 80 herbs, 1 at a time, at the correct price, yet the seer still declares me a thief and a scoundrel. Is the Ultima Codex wiki incorrect in the values or am I doing something wrong?

i think that each item that you buy in the 99 lot
counts separately for the honesty drop even if its bought in 1 set
keep working at the honesty booster actions you'll get back up eventually
...Exactly what I was hoping wasn't the case, lmao! Ah well. I'll play the game, buying reagents at the correct prices as needed, and eventually get where I need to be.
What version are you playing? (I ask because the NES version differs substantially from all other versions.)

(In the NES version, the virtue increase from buying reagents with the proper amount has a cooldown.)
I'm playing the GOG version, having installed the graphical update patch alongside it.

You surely got the point of the game. :-)
Yeah, I just figured I could game the system to get an early leg up, lol. Was getting tired of dying to poison trapped chests. Gonna play more honestly from now on, lol.

Death before dishonesty! ;)
Speaking as one working on a speedrun:

Every transaction counts, the amount in the transaction doesn't matter.
Your virtues range between 0 and 100, and better yet, cannot fall below 0.
I rob the blind lady at the start of my run, then buy a bunch of cheap herbs one at a time to fix things.

So! I would suggest that the graphical upgrade broke your game somewhat, or at least changed how honesty works. How are your Justice and Honour (which are also affected by herbalist transactions)?
