During a recent run of the game, my boat was destroyed by the whirlpool the second I landed at the dungeon of the snake- not wanting to waste the hours I put in I downloaded Xenerke's save state editor trying to spawn a boat near me, or at least teleport to the mainland where I can search for a boat without the threat of starvation.

However, when modifying the PARTY.ULT on my PC, I can't seem to get the changes to appear in the game. Does anybody have experience using his tool that would be able to help? It would be much appreciated.

I don't know offhand what the situation of save editing the game is (though it's possible that, on a modern GOG installation, the PARTY.ULT that needs to be modified might be saved in a different spot than the unchanging files are), but there are a couple ways to get out of your predicament.

1. If you have anyone who can cast Wizard spells and has at least 30 MP, cast spell G, which will warp you to a random spot on the overworld; this will probably send you to the mainland (and if it doesn't, just try again).

2. Disperse your party (I forgot the actual term used), then form a new party with the same characters; when you resume playing, you will be at the starting point right by Lord British's castle. (The one downside is that you will lose your horses (if you have any), but you will keep everything else, including any ships that you might have (except your position, of course).)
