I know that many are fighting with this problem. Through a lot of you useful posts, some searches in Google and a lot of curses I've solved this. I'm hear to share this with whoever can be interested.

THE KNOT: every time you uninstall the game GOG Galaxy will recover the cloud savings making impossible to produce the damned file. You have to to do three things.

1a - From the ULTIMA 2 installation screen in GOG Galaxy, install the game;

1b - From the option menu, select "MANAGE INSTALLATION " -> "CONFIGURE..." and remove the check box from "Sync local saves with GOG Galaxy Cloud" and click "OK" (check the picture);

2a - Open the folder in which the game is installed and delete the file "PLAYER";

2b - Open the folder "Cloud_Saves" and erase ALL from it;

3 - Return in the main folder and create a new text file with note pad. DON'T WRITE NOTHING! Just erase the ".TXT" extension before save.

Now GOG Galaxy is not interferieng with with your savings and the game has a fresh "disk" to create the character.
