Windows / Linux guy here. Someone gave a Mac to my son, and I'm like a fish out of water. I did manage to find the location of the saves on Mac, so I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. It *is* pretty cool having a Unix shell with access to things like find.

Windows 11: D:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Ultima 1\cloud_saves\

MacOS:/Applications/Ultima I(TM).app/Contents/Resources/game/

The problem is that the Mac isn't using the cloud saves. We started playing Ultima I on a laptop while on vacation. When we got home, I installed Ultima I on my Windows desktop, and the save games were right there, waiting for me.

Then my 6 year old was given a Mac. Installed Ultima I and ... the save games were NOT there. Futzing around with the UI, I saw that under Manage Installation | Configure, the Cloud Saves option was unchecked and greyed out so that I can't turn it on.

Does anyone know why cloud saves are disabled on the Mac? Does it have to do with the incompatibility of binary files maybe?
