I have installed Ultima 1-2-3 and when I start U1 title and char gen comes up no prob, but when I try to save my char after gen I get "Error writing out Character Press Return"
I have un-installed and re-installed the game and no change. Can someone help me on this?

Lots of the Ultima games are requiring you to run them as Administrator. Have you deleted the PLAYERx.U1 files as well? If not, try that and see if it clears things up. The common places to find them (on Win 7 at least) is: %appdata% (just copy/paste that into a Windows Explorer window or the run are in the start menu) or C:\Program Files (x86)\ or some place similar to those two. You may have to do a bit of digging. I'll try to be a bit more helpful when I get home.

For Ultima ][ running with admin rights are not enough. You have to be logged in as admin otherwise you get a "wrong disc" error.
