There the console ports i.e. Ultima 7 in that collection is the god awful SNES port, Wing Commander if I recall is also the SNES port I con't recall which port of Syndicate is used.

Yeah, whoever was porting Ultima 7 had some crazy ideas coming straight off Satan's ass.

Don't touch that bastion of blasphemy, OP.

But if you're looking for a portable U7, Exult works PERFECTLY with the PSP (the cursor isn't all that bad). Google Exult PSP port and you'll find it in no time. You need U7 on the PC though.
i would love to play those games on the psp, but honestly, i don't think i ever would. especially ultima, that is such a mouse driven game. it'd be like trying to play starcraft II on the psp.

Out of that set, only Wing Commander is anything like the computer game, and both "Ultima VII" (which was actually called Ultima:The Black Gate in the US and only carried the name Ultima VII on Japanese Nintendo cartridges) and Syndicate are highly simplified versions of their computer counterparts. Ultima VII is more like The Legend of Zelda with a single character who really only swings a sword and practices quick magic tricks. Unlike the computer edition, once you are killed, you have to start from scratch. It's maddening to get to the highest level only to be killed by a rat and have to start again from the beginning.

There is one freaky tweak that kind of reflects on the current state of Ultima with "Lady British" in that one particular tavernkeeper who is a man on the PC version is a woman in the PSP version despite having exactly the same face. My advice; pretend the PSP version is just a weird nightmare and buy The Complete Ultima VII from here instead. You will be glad you did. As for Syndicate, that is also a weak arcade-like version and nothing like the PC. Wing Commander looks good, but the controls are direct from Hell.

The collection is mostly worth it for the Road Rash games which are still fun despite the changed music and some of other games.

Doubtlessly a collection that deserves that EA's seal of approval.

And I really wish they'd stop defiling Ultima IV with that "Forever" bullcrap....
