... is among my favorite game music ever, especially considering the limited sound technology at the time. It's haunting, mysterious, and basically perfect. If anyone is looking for decent rearrangements or remixes of this music, I know of three that I would say are of very good quality. Two of them are at RKO (http://remix.kwed.org/index.php?search=ultima+vi), of which I would say Wolfram Kresse's track is the best, and the third is at OCRemix (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00810/).

If you happen to know of more such tracks from anywhere outside of RKO or OCRemix (from U6 or any other of Ken Arnold's Ultima music), please let me know.

Not the intro, but years agonI heard a .modnfile called Stones '96 that was a jazz remix of Stones from the Ultima games. Sadly I have not been able to find it since. If anyone finds it let me know!

You sure it wasn't Stones 94? Had this looped 24/7 when playing ADOM many years ago. Pissed everyone off..Until i've found Alan Stivell, and played Tri Martolod to death, then everyone missed Stones. Typical. :D

The music i remember the most from Ultima 6 is the Character Creation track. It's wonderful and gives a feeling of what's to come.

All in all I was impressed when booting up U6 again. Didn't think music that early would be so epic :-)

All You need is a midi file, or a module file. View them with appropriate software [Renoise is great, as it handles both MIDI and most module files]. You can also get Your hands on Guitar Pro (no module support), and import a MIDI file there, and it'll tab it out for You. ;)

I used to play around with this a lot, writing notes down using mod players back in the Age Of DOS, using Cubic Player. or even 'converting' C64's SIDs to MIDI by trail and error with sid2midi.

It's a lot of fun, really. ;)

There's an Ultima Songbook with guitar arrangements by Yannick Kirschhoffer, hosted at Ultima Aiera. I'm pretty sure it includes tab for U6 Character Creation.
