How Gypsy cards works?
I found nothing about this in manual which surprised me. If I understand well woman makes me a stats or mayby class from my answers. Are there some classes for your Avatar in U9 or this system is only ubout rising up STR,DEX&INT?
I tried to answer honestly and in the end she told something about i have better dexterity. Is there any way how to change this result? I wanted force gypsy to make me second round of cardtelling, but thats not posible.

Is there any other way to change start stats or you have to save before gypsy and google list of answers like a douchebag everytime when starting new game?

Im not even sure how good or bad stats I have, thanks to ultrastupid using of names instead of number values. Is dim worst level? or low is worse? no idea. Genious.

Second thing which iritating me are no names for all items. You can at least see cca power of your weapon in the upper line, but why potions, omg? Why devs punish us? Thanks to similar colour of some potions Im not sure what type of potion i need to drink in the moment. There are at least two types of red potions in game, also two which looks orangy (again one lighter one darker + after i have drunk potion which had some light blue colour my avatar got surprisely some bizarre flame clothes for a moment which sounds more like that "infermal armor" potion from taken note, which should be actualy white.

Seriously this?
That potion list based on written colours is much more confusing than helpfull. Lord British obviousoly hates all kind of descriptions. :(

Well, at least controls of this ultima are surprisely less irritating than those in older Ultima games.
Much better than wanky robot walk from Black Gate or slomo dungeon exploring with horribly preseted keys like in U Underworlds.

well, in a nutshell, the gypsy is asking you questions relating to the 8 virtues. if you are hoping to create your character in a specific way, you will need to "select" the virtue that corresponds with your desired character class. i.e. honesty for mage, spirituality for ranger, compassion for bard, honor for paladin, humility for shepherd, valor for fighter, sacrifice for tinker, and justice for druid. the gypsy will ask you a series of 7 questions and will slowly eliminate options until your class is decided. if you desire a specific class you need to select that particular virtue 3 times.

each class has its own set of start-up goodies in the chest at Stonegate. each class also has its own set of attributes that the avatar gets to start with.

as far as descriptions go, if you want to know what something is before you equip or use it, you can just out the mouse pointer over the item you wish to identify and use the "x" key. it will tell you that you have a white potion or a Warhammer or chain coif or whatever.

the potions can be hard to recognize at first. (I understand what you mean about orange or red potions) and this id trick will definitely help in the beginning. the full list is:

red=cures poison
yellow=heals
orange=restore mana
blue=underwater breathing
white=infernal armor
black=invisibility
purple=invulnerabllity
green=poison

i hope this helps!

here is a post from a while back that gives a bit more info on the stats and how to increase them

Thanks! I had no idea what that mana breath means.

But where i can get information about my class? And which class I actualy have? I found only basic stats in journal, nothing else about my character.

your class is not determined until after you answer the questions for the gypsy. is there a certain class you were hoping for? if you have already answered the gypsy's questions, she will tell you what class you are going to start with. what might you be aiming for?

truth be told, it really doesn't matter too much because no matter what class you start out as, you will still progress through the game in the same way. you will still be able to cast all spells and use all weapons and wear all types of armor. the only upside to your starting class is the starting gear that you are given in stonegate.

once you start the game proper, you will be able to check your stats (str+int+dex) by using the ctrl z keys.
Furthermore, regardless of starting class, you should end the game with all stats maxed out, as I recall.

Indeed, note that in this game, your "class" only really affects two things: your starting stats, and your starting equipment. Nothing else.

So I really wouldn't worry about your starting class--it's only really affects the early game.

Still, if you want to read more about the lore behind the classes, there's a fan-wiki that has descriptions of each:

[edit] The forum software doesn't seem to like the colon in that URL, so I'm afraid that I leave it to you to copy-paste it if you're interested. ^^;
