bliznik: The Gold Edition just includes the patch and speech pack.

Rodimus_2316: What does that mean, exactly? What exact changes are those? I'm guessing the last one lets you hear other character voices when you talk to them? All I really want is to first play Ultima 7: The Black Gate, part 2 Serpent Isle, and the original Ultima VIII: Pagan (for now). If the patch and pack of the Gold Edition don't really change the story or anything, I'd be willing to settle for it, but I kinda want to see it for how it really was, then maybe Gold Edition afterward if the changes are too much. Same with also later doing Ultima VII Forge of Virtue and Silver Seed, from you guys.
I don't really know where to find Ultima 8 without the patch, but you can read all about what the patch fixed here (https://gigi.nullneuron.net/ultima/u8/u8patch.php). I kind of wish I could find an unpatched version of Ultima 8, since that is how I originally played the game, and the jumping puzzles were *much* more challenging.

The speech pack just allows you to hear the voices of the Titans when they talk to you.

Rodimus_2316: So in order to get other games I also need to go to my GOG.com account? And check my "gogaccount1.jpg" and "gogaccount2.jpg" attached images for pics of my GOG.com account. And/Or I just download these on my account and they'll stay on my computer to play on and I won't need to save them on Gog Galaxy to play them? LMK if you need more info.
OK, so now you have a very interesting configuration. According to all of your screenshots, it seems like GOG Galaxy shows that you have Ultima 8, but your GOG account shows that you never purchased Ultima 8 before. So...that probably explains why you're unable to install using GOG Galaxy. What I am guessing is happening is when you click on anything Ultima 8 related in GOG Galaxy, GOG Galaxy probably tries to contact the GOG backend in order to do things like retrieve installation files or retrieve extras (since GOG Galaxy is merely a fancy front-end for your GOG account). But since the GOG backend account shows that you never purchased Ultima 8 before, that creates a weird error message that I've never seen when you try to use the GOG Galaxy front-end to retrieve files from the GOG backend.

So, to fix this, you'll probably need to look in your records and try to find your receipt for Ultima 8, and show that receipt to some authority at GOG Games, and they can probably fix your GOG account so that it shows that you've purchased Ultima 8. Otherwise, you'll need to purchase Ultima 8 in the GOG store (which you can still do here. (https://www.gog.com/game/ultima_8_gold_edition), which will also probably fix your issue.

Sorry mate, looks like you're at a bit of an impasse when it comes to Ultima 8 and GOG.

I included another attached image that says it's an owned game (u8goggalaxylist.jpg).

How do I reach the authority? I also have three more attached images showing my Orders & Settings (with the private stuff blacked out).

If that doesn't work, would uninstalling (or uninstalling and reinstalling) GOG Galaxy change any of that, like you suggested before, including with getting Ultima 7: The Black Gate and Part 2: Serpent Isle (the originals)? And if I decide to take that route, before should I install the rest of my games on GOG Galaxy, so they're also on my hard drive as DOSBOX or whatever witch isn't dependent on GOG Galaxy (right?), and/or should I go to my gog.com/account and for each game "Install Game with GOG Galaxy" "Download and Install Now"?

Yes, like I said, your GOG Galaxy shows that you own Ultima 8, but your GOG account shows that you _never_ purchased Ultima 8. So...unless you can show someone at GOG evidence that you actually purchased Ultima 8 (not that GOG shows that you own Ultima 8), I don't think you'll be able to download and install Ultima 8.

There are many ways to contact people at a company. If I were you, I'd probably start with one of the support pages, like this one: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?product=gog&form=account.

There might also be phone numbers you can call at GOG.

Your Orders & Settings screenshots do not show any evidence of you ever purchasing Ultima 8. Strangely, your Orders & Settings screenshots do show that you purchased Ultima 7 twice, which is weird. So, you'll probably want to show some sort of evidence that you actually purchased Ultima 8 to someone at GOG if you want to have one of them add it to your account. From what you've shown me so far, I have seen ZERO EVIDENCE that you ever purchased Ultima 8 in the past from GOG.

Looking at your settings, I don't think uninstalling and reinstalling either GOG Galaxy or Ultima 8 would work. Like I stated before, GOG Galaxy is merely a front-end for your GOG account. Unless both the front-end and the back-end work collaboratively together, you probably won't be able to use GOG Galaxy to install Ultima 8.

My "Ultima VIII: Pagan" on Gog Galaxy page: Above the title it now says, as a link: "Mark as owned". Why does it say that? Should I press it? Tonight I just searched up the original Myst, and am having the same problems here. I'm going to go make a post about that there now.

Also, I just found "Ultima VIII - Pagan (English) that says I can Buy it. Here is the attachment.

When I click on "Buy", nothing happens.

I have no idea if you should click on that link or not. I guess you could always try clicking on it and let us know what happens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
