I'm trying to install the Ultima II Upgrade Patch but I'm having a problem.

3. Run "dngpatch.exe" <---- I can't run this exe, windows is giving me a "This app can't run on your PC" error.

I'm using Windows 10 as my OS and I have tried running it in compatibility mode, and reinstalling Ultima II and reapplying the patch.

I have also tried running it as an administrator but it gives me a "Windows cannot find dngpatch.exe" error despite being able to double click it right in the directory.

Any helps, suggestions or comments is appreciated. Going from Ultima I to Ultima II graphics wise is a huge step down, but I can deal with playing the game as is without the patch if it comes to that.

The patch is probably a DOS executable: try running it in DOSBox.

Start DOSBox (you can find it in the Ultima 2 folder), mount the game's folder (MOUNT C C:\<Ultima2-folder>), then enter the mounted drive (C:) and run the patch (DNGPATCH.EXE).

Yep, that was totally it. Just went through the steps and now everything is working. Appreciate the help dr.schliemann. Now I can enjoy Ultima II in glorious color.
