Hi.

After finishing both U1 and U2 i want to start with U3.

The problem is that i cannot patch the installed version i have bought from GOG. The shortcut that the installer created in my desktop simply doesn't work after patching.

BTW, to patch it i had to move the Ultima3 folder from GOG/Ultima Trilogy to C:\ and use DosBox to run the patcher since i don't know how to mount a with a space (Program Files).

I'm a little lost, anyone could help me? I just i want to have U3 patched and running with a shortcut.

try using Pix's Ultima Patcher

Just download it and run the program and it will handle patching for you and yes it works with the GOG versions

I tried but doesn't work. It patches OK but when i run the game after the opening scene with the name of Exodus appearing and the four guys fighting with a dragon the bottom half of the screen turn black and nothing happens or a blue block moves up.

have you tried playing with the graphic's mode setting of the game's dosbox config? try setting it to one of the other setting like OpenGL, DDraw, Direct3d or whatever, you can usually find a program that does this for you by going to your start menu and scroll till you find the GOG folder and then Ultima 1+2+3 and then Ultima 3 \graphic mode setup and see if any of those settings help.

I found a workaround. If I run the game from the Graphic mode setup it goes perfectly. So I have created a shortcut in my desktop. I assume there must be something in the dosboxUltima3.conf that makes that strange issue with the shortcut.
