AFAIK it is the CD-ROM version which includes the speech pack.

Hi, guys but I bought it, and just ran it... and crashed ... any Ideas?
EDIT: Ignore Ran fine, it just crashed, but ran it again and it's okay(crossing my fingers hope it does not crash!)

Yes one of them was! I just threw it in my cart!! :)

If you run it and end up with a crash at launch with main exe, try booting the game via the graphics setup exe, for me it works that way.

The Gold Edition includes the speech pack and all the bug fixes that were done on the game. Among the bug fixes are some changes to the game such as taking away the moving platforms and taking some of the brutality out of some of the arcade game features of the game. There is no extra content, though, because the add-on The Lost Vale was scrapped.

Darn, I was kind of hoping against hope for The Lost Vale. From what I understand, it was actually completed but EA canned it at the last minute and then the master disc was supposedly lost. Not sure if it was accidentally or intentionally lost.

So wait, the only redeeming quality of U8 was removed? Well that figures.

I remember playing through U8 when it was released and other than some terrain glitches I ran through the game without any game breaking issues.

The reason I liked the game was because of its difficulty and the platform puzzles which were not tough at all.

Oh well, won’t be buying this version and shame about the Lost Vale. I never even knew about a U8 expansion. I’d buy U8 again just for that, would be nice to have played through what ending of U8 was really all about.
And definitely not purchasing U9, that game is too bugged. The beginning of the game is actually quite fun and relatively bug free, but get about half way through and forget about it, heh.
