Just got this game with my son and we can't "get" anything. The instructions say to left click on the GET icon and right click on the object to pick up.

Well we have a Mac mouse that only one clicks.

We can one click on the GET icon, but all we see is a red X over the items we want to pick up. One clicking does nothing but move us around.

We are looking down (by pressing 1).

Please help us!

rmeakins suggeted the right way to right-click. If it still doesn't work, your mouse's right button may be set to Primary Click by default. GOG support suggests to go to System Preferences => Mouse and set the mouse's right button to "Secondary Click" or "Secondary Button".
