I just started playing underworld 1, I am loving it so far.

I am having trouble with key management. I already have a lot and don't know if any are no longer required or anything.

Also, I know it's early to be thinking of what to get next, but what other games simiar to this do you guys recommend? It's a new genre to me, I've only ever played The dark spire.

Thanks.

Each key opens all doors that share the same visual appearance (unless they are opened with a switch or whatever), so once you have found what type of door a key opens you'll know which key to use for that door design in future. You will find doors deeper down that need keys from higher levels (and vice versa). I used a bag for keys; Ultima Underworld II includes a keyring. Also remember that you can break down some types of doors with enough patience (use your fist to avoid weapon wear). Examining the door from time to time will give you an idea of how close you are to destroying it.

As for similar games, Arx Fatalis (available on GOG) is very similar (and indeed the developers wanted it to be Ultima Underworld III). The King's Field games and spin-offs are also very similar but they aren't on the PC.

Thanks for the reply :D
Inventory management in the game can be annoying! :p

For the keys in Ultima Underworld 1, what I did was just put all the keys into one bag. So when I needed to open a door, I'd just open the bag with the keys in it and try them all. Could call it a "key bag" ;).

I guess a lot of people did the same thing. I kept every key I found in the game till the very end, it doesn't really get that bad with keys.
