It seems that the GOG Helper service is hanging up my game and computer at times. When I try to go to the Mad Mages place I can't get on the Turtle when this service is running. When I go to the Task Manager and end the service I can get on the Turtle and proceed to the island.

What gives this should be fixed so the game doesn't hangup.

Please make sure not to reveal any details on the game itself (Serpent Isle) and neither the problem you ran into nor the fix you have discovered. It might help others on the board, and you wouldn't want to risk that, right? ...
