Sometimes, at random, seemingly, after inputting a note into the automap I'll attempt to click close and nothing happens. The music still plays, and I can move my cursor, but I can't exit out of the map. I alt-f9 to close DOSBox, and when I reload my save all of my map data will be gone, and if I try and add another note the same thing will happen. I've already lost one save where I was over halfway through the game and lost several floors worth of maps and notes, and now it's happening much earlier on new games, usually just an hour in or so. I haven't found anyone else with similar problems.

I've also played a bit through the sequel, and haven't encountered the problem.

EDIT: I checked out a recent save that was affected by this glitch. The map wasn't erased - it was reset, along with the rest of the game! All items and monsters had respawned. The only thing that stayed constant was my character and inventory.

EDIT 2: Looks like it may have something to do with save files and windows 7. Not exactly sure how, but I saw a trick posted on an old review of the game to help recover your stuff after an inventory glitch. It's results were very similar to what I'm experiencing. I'm gonna try reinstalling outside of program files.

1) Are you running DOSBOX as Administrator?
2) When installing, did you have GOG's installer install the game in the default place (Program Files blah blah blah), or elsewhere outside of that folder tree?
