Saying MOUNTAIN and GRAPPLING to the Lord in Empath Abbey gives me the dialogue where he gives me the hook but it never shows up in the inventory and therefore can never (U)se it.

Anyone else have success with the hook?

Simply stand next to a mountain square (not the ones with the really tall peak) and use the (K)limb command.
