Nedrix: 'Options' isn't a menu item - the options are just those three items on the screen (Return to view, Journey Onward, Initiate New Game).
If you want actual audio/video/gameplay options to tweak, try playing with xu4 as Arkose suggested. It lets you configure all sorts of things. And there's the additional benefit that you can play it with enhanced graphics & music, if you like.

Actually, I went one better and pulled out my old NES and Avatar. One of the best ports from PC to a home gaming system ever. :)
