How do I use items in U7?

I double left click on the bread and then what?

Tried moving the bread over the character and it gives me an error sound with a red cross.


I see an angelic thing and when I double click that,it turns into a fiery sword.

What does that mean?

Really sluggish frustrating game but I guess it was made more than 20 years ago lol.

P.S. I don't want someone in here telling me I'm a noob because I want today's graphics.

I am 45.

I couldn't afford a pc back then and glad I couldn't going by these graphics lol.

But I remember they were the bees knees back then and I remember drooling over the cover and wanting it.

double click the bread then click on the character. Do not click his status window, that won't work.

The angelic and fiery sword pictures represent non-combat and combat mode. They only appear on the avatar's status window. C is the shortcut key for that.

I highly recommend you download the reference card. It's basically a short manual detailing the controls and menu explanations. The actual manual is more about the history, culture, and towns of Britainia.

Sorry for Necro'ing this post, but I cannot seem to feed Iolo after one time. The old man complains of hunger more and more but I don't get it. I'm still in Trinsic, but he won't eat bought food or stolen food. Whats the deal?
