Hello Folks, i'm not being able to play at all Ufo Aftershock.
My first try was to use wine emulation on my mac, it installed flawlessly but it doesn't want to start with fatal_assert error. It seems more of a game problem, in the winehq ufo page it is rated as platinum.

so I've tried to install in a windows 7 machine instead, applied the patch but still no success with a fatal_assert error at the start. Tried on 2 different machines. Same error.

What the hell guys, this is a great game, unfortunately old and not compatible, but i though GoG could solve those kinds of things.

ps: having problem with UFO Afterlight as well.

Maybe you don't have a good gaming graphic card, able to use the shaders.

Oh yeah, i forgot to write out my specs, the previous post was a little hasty because i had problems writing on the forums.

Anyway, i don't think hardware is the problem, i did try it in 3 different machines.
My iMac is a 2009 21,5 model:
Intel Core 2 Duo 3,06 Ghz
4 GB RAM
Geforce 9400 256MB (able to handle most games)

When trying to start it gives me:
Fatal_Assert SoundStream invalid value
If i start with --options nosound=true (to try and bypass the sound error)
It just gives me another error.


Anyone with any clues?
It says in the readme to run it in safe mode, how would i do that in command line?

Harware pb I think, all different.
old game box says: "Game does not support integrated graphics cards nor mobile laptop solutions". I don't remember. Maybe remove the option file (keep a copy elsewhere).

Its not integrated Graphics, as i said mine is a Geforce 9400, i have desktop Mac.

mine is an intel graphic card..damn... and the solution you say is that says "add options in your launcher?" how you do that?

Add it in the properties of shortcut, in Target.

no sucess...is the intel graphic card issue..guess i should play newer games :-(
