I'm having a problem starting UFO: Aftershock. I'm running Windows 10 and I get the same error with the GOG 1.2 version and after patching to 1.3.

Aftermath starts up just fine. Any ideas please?

Beware Intel cards are not supported.
Switch on your NVidia or ATI/AMD 3D graphic card

Or maybe do a backup of Profiles folder (it's in the game folder), remove it and launch the game.

Thank you ERISS. Unfortunately I don't have another video card in my computer. I tried renaming the Profile folder but that didn't work. Sounds like I'm SOL. :(

Try dgVoodoo 2, it helped me with a lot of older games.

I went to check this out and got all kinds of malware warnings.

And install newest BIK Player and RAD Video Tools. With them even the intro and all other custscenes are working fine.
