Hello there fellow Gog'ers!
So far im really liking Aftershock (havent tried out aftermath and i thought afterlight was so-so, didnt really like the graphical design of that game) and i have been playing that earlier on a friends copy but now i got it on Gog.
The problem comes quite quickly in the game (SPOILERS) when the big beefy aliens arrive and you get a countdown till when they arrive (forgot their name, but i remember them attacking the laputa and constantly attacking my tracks).
And now the countdown to my extinction has begun anew, and i wonder if i have done something totally wrong,
since i do strongly remember me having at least laser rifles at this time when i played this earlier but now i havent even finished researching the basics of energy weapons.
So i guess i will be annihilated since im not even finished researching firearms! (Dang it took alot more time than before when i played!), which means im still fooling around with reticulan weapons and ammo is running out!
So do you guys have any tips i can use when fighting the big beefy aliens? (a note; 14 days left to their arrival)
And should i really restart the game on rookie? (im playing soldier, i guess thats the "normal" difficulty)
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated :]

Also, i know that there is a fan patch for the game but i havent tried that out yet...

Don't worry. you're in the normal story. Soldier difficulty is some easy, so don't restart your game. The most difficult is the first time you fight against the cultists.
You must install the 'unofficial' 1.3 patch (it works good with GOG); if you do not, late you could not be able to finish the game. [url=]http://www.ufo-aftershock.com/pages/support.html#patches[/url]
