Hello,

Can anyone help?

c0000005 can be caused by many things, unfortunately.
I'm assuming that your sounds / graphic drivers are up to date.

Did you install game as a administrator - run as admin as well?
Is it installed at default location?
Hi, yeah done those things too. It`s installed to c:\games.

PS - no idea why i wrote NVidia, the computer i am trying to run this on is ATI.

I have Nvidia myself, so I won't be much help here. Maybe someone with ATI will chime in.

In the meantime I would suggest looking through UFO official forums. There are quite a lot of topics in their support section.
Hi Izzanbbad,

I don't know which of the UFO games you're having problems with, but I had my ATI driver crashing when running Afterlight.

Turns out the last usable ATI driver was 9.5, but I didn't want to downgrade my driver just for one game.

I looked around, and found a perfectly working solution on the official game forums:
1. Download version 9.5 of the ATI driver over at AMD.
2. Open the exe with 7-zip or similar and find the file "atioglxx.dl_". I found it in "$_OUTDIR\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF\B_80160\".
3. Extract the file to the UFO Afterlight root directory.
4. Go to the Afterlight root directory from command prompt and expand the file using the command "expand atioglxx.dl_ atioglxx.dll".
5. Run the game :)

This worked fine for me.

Thanks for the tip (+ it fixed a number of other ati opengl related game issues)
