I've been waiting that GoG would put this series on sale. However, Aftermath doesn't run as smoothly as it used to (back in the... 2000 something, when I still had XP). Now it's very choppy at some points as:

1. Both intro videos stop after starting. Double-hitting esc goes to the main menu though.

1.1 Same goes main menu buttons; the background effects are very sluggish and slow.

2. Geoview is very, very laggy. Time is running "slowly", as well as helicopter is moving slowly due lagging.

I've been trying to find solution to this for some time now, but no dice. Could anyone point out what could be the problem?

What's your graphic card? Only decent Nvidia and ATI are supported.
NVidia or ATI/AMD 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 9

Damn, didn't even check if the diaxg had GPU in the file, sorry :P

My GPU is Ati Radeon 5850.
Well, referring old topics did help, but I am still not sure what I did wrong last time.

After changing "Wait for Vertical Refresh" to "Always on" in Catalyst Center, videos started to work again properly. Funny thing is, I think I fiddled with that earlier before giving up and posting about my problem here. Oh well, figures.

Thanks anyway ERISS, I can now kill some alien ass finally.
For ATI Cards, the problem lies on the Catalyst Drivers. Fortunately, the solution is also by tweaking Catalyst.

For Win7 (32bit & 64bit) Change your Catalyst -> 3D -> AA (Anti Aliasing). unchecked the "Use application settings". set the level to 4x and Select the filter : Wide-tent.

For WinXP on Catalyst -> 3D -> AA. unchecked the "Use application settings". And select the filter to Wide-tent.

Done...
Checked back the checkbox if you want to play newer games... :)

Interestingly enough, I only have "Wait for Vertical Refresh" as "Always on" and it started to work (after I removed, cleaned and installed new drivers).

I did try that solution before but it didn't solve my problems anyway.

So, as far as I can tell for future generations, (with those who has ATI that is), the solution is to put "Wait for Vertical Refresh) as "Always on". If that doesn't help, your solution might help instead.

I hope I knew more about this problem :P
any idea for amd radeon graphics?

e: never mind solved the problem:
