The 6GB requirement was probably just copy pasted from the 64bit and steam versions. And it also accounts for OS, steam and such.

That it is 32 bits only is sad, my 32GiB of memory need some loving. But I can always put the game folder in /dev/shm/ and run the game from there for insane speeds.
